Our staff at the Big Horn Basin Adolescent Program is trained to create a safe, nurturing atmosphere for the youth in our care. The size of our program enables us to offer individualized attention. We are skilled in building trusting, caring relationships, offering strong guidance and helping youth in developing a change in behavior. Young people find our adolescent program to be a place where they can overcome problems, develop positive skills, experience success and have fun.
Lynne and her husband Don have 3 children. Two are attending the University of Wyoming and their youngest son, Brett, attends the local high school in Basin.
Ken and Kas received the Wyoming “Youth Care Workers” award for 1999. Ken is now House Supervisor of the boy’s home, and Kas is Youth Program Coordinator. Both Ken and Kas say they consider “working for the group home” a misnomer, as they feel working with the teens is a “way of life, not a job”.
Mitsie was born and raised here in Basin and lives with her husband and son, who is attending the local high school.
Lynne is originally from Oklahoma and now lives in Basin with her son Mykel who is currently working for the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Department.

We develop an individualized Plan of Care for each young person who comes into our program based on his or her individual need. This comprehensive Plan of Care guides each child's social, emotional, and educational growth.
Life skills are an important part of each young person's individualized Plan of Care. Each youth learns household, money, and personal management skills. For 17 to 18 year-olds who will not be returning to their homes, we teach an Advanced Independent Living Skills class.
Each child attends public school while living with us. Our staff assists each
student to practice good study habits in order to improve educational
achievement.
We also emphasize positive use of recreation and leisure time.
Outdoor recreation enables these young people to build positive relationships, sharpen individual
skills and develop self-confidence in an atmosphere of fun. We use community
resources as much as possible to instill lifelong habits of physical activity
and fitness.
